Hiking
Immerse yourself in nature and breathe the fresh mountain air. The hikes in Upper Valsassina and Upper Valvarrone are numerous and of various levels, many suitable even for families. All our accommodations are excellent starting points for your days discovering trails and panoramic views. The routes are well signposted with signs indicating reachable destinations and walking times. Many hikes are also doable in winter with snowshoes or ski mountaineering equipment. Mountaineering
Explore high mountains and reach significant peaks of the Orobic Prealps. For more adventurous and fit travelers, mid‑mountain trails continue to higher altitudes: vegetation changes, the air becomes colder, and the panorama ever more breathtaking. Among the most important peaks are Pizzo dei Tre Signori in Upper Valvarrone, Pizzo Alto above Premana, and the Grigne range in Valsassina. Some peaks can even be reached in winter conditions!
Choosing to stay in one of our cabins or apartments the night before a major hike is an ideal solution to start rested in the morning and enjoy well‑deserved relaxation upon return.
E‑Bike
Our mountains are rich in circuits and agro‑forestry‑pastoral roads ideal for scenic e‑bike tours — the best way to reach destinations that would be too far or strenuous on foot in a single day. Nothing beats reaching our mountain huts by e‑bike for a nice outdoor lunch in good company! For those trying this wonderful activity for the first time, we recommend renting an e‑bike and booking a certified guide. We are fully available to book your e‑bikes and MTB guide!
Adventure Park
An exciting and adrenaline‑filled activity for kids and adults alike! At Jungle Rider Park at Pian delle Betulle (Margno), the adventure park offers thrilling courses with zip lines, Nepalese bridges, and suspended ladders among the larches of the forest. The park features different circuits suitable for all levels. The Jungle Rider Park is reachable by cable car from Margno or on foot from Alpe di Paglio in about twenty minutes.
Mountain Dining
Whether it’s after a hike, a walk, or an e‑bike tour, a lunch at the mountain huts and alpine pastures in our valleys is a must to complete the day!

Lake Como
A well‑known, surprising, and evocative destination just a few kilometers from us. During your stay in Upper Valsassina, a day dedicated to the wonderful Lake Como is highly recommended. The Lecco shore of the lake, reachable in about 35 minutes by car, is rich in bathing beaches, water activities like windsurfing and canoeing, and charming historic towns such as Bellano and Varenna. With the ferry, important locations like Bellagio — the Pearl of Lake Como — and Menaggio can also be visited in a day trip.
Valsassina
More activities and outdoor panoramas for your days outside. Going down from Margno you reach Taceno and the broader Valsassina in just minutes. The entire valley is connected by a flat cycling path with kiosks and playgrounds — suitable for families and more. For the more athletic, Sasso di Introbio is known for rock climbing with specially equipped routes. Numerous renowned hiking trails also start from the Valsassina villages, especially in the Grigne group and Val Biandino. In winter, the most popular destination is Piani di Bobbio, a ski area together with Valtorta.
Cultural Tourism
The villages of Upper Valsassina are deeply rooted in their centuries‑old traditions, still alive and cherished. Traditions and historical‑cultural heritage can be discovered through the area’s museums: the Ethnographic Museum of Premana, to learn about the phases of iron working and daily life of past residents; the Cantar di Pietra Museum in Tremenico, interactive and experiential, to explore life in the mines and quarries; and the Milk and Muggiasca History Museum in Vendrogno, which explains dairy processing passed down through generations.
